Default Our Blocking....

Ok so today i was Abing as usual, and then while i was alone looked at Bonnetis Defence. It said it ends once i use a skill... Then furthermore i looked at other stances. Here is what they do (not including EOTN if there are any)

Bonnetis Defence 8 Adren You have a 75% chance to block incoming attacks, for every successful melee attack blocked you can 5 energy. This ends if you use a skill.

So Bonnetis Defence now to me seems morel ike a fall back stance really...

Disciplined Stance: 5 E Gain +24 Armor and 75% chance to block, this ends if you use an adren skill.

So i cant use adreneline during it or else i die...

Gladiators Defence [Elite] 5 E Have a 75% chance to block, whenever melee blocked attacker suffers () damage.

Seems like it has no drawbacks except for the elite part...

Now, the only reason i finally decided to speak out was because of rangers stances. Sure they all req energy and might have long recharge but really, no real drawbacks. And Escape (Elite Stance) Which lets you go faster and blocking. Its a 12 sec. recharge and i think max for us to use is like 9ish seconds?

The difference is, rangers need Natural Stride/Escape to survive.

The warrior has stupid high armour instead, so its defensive stances suck.

Besides, you ought to be using offensive stances - the warrior's job is to kill shizzle. Frenzy/Flail for owning face, Rush for chasing people down and owning face.

Bonnetis stance is mostly for farming in pve, a quick way to bost energy. And it can be maintained indefinately simply by auto attacking to build adren while under it.

Taking a skill on the chance that you *might* run into such and such build/profession isn't a safe bet. Moreso in this instance because A. Warrior isn't a priority, B. You might run into a smart assassin, and C. You might not run into any assassins at all, leading to a wasted slot.

Yup, I'd rather take Shock instead. Can be used to effectively disrupt assassins/buy you time. Can also be used to snare kiters, chaining with Bull's Strike, to interrupt key skills etc. In other words, it is much more versatile.

The OP should have read like this:

"Our blocking ...

... is completely and totally unnecessary. Move along, nothing to see here."

tis true... Many people think stances on wars are important.. but tbh the only important stances are for IAS... i.e. Frenzy, Flail, Flurry etc... now i think of it.. how come they all begin with an f lol?

Shield bash is good for entertainment value only on a warrior. It only really shines on something like a RA monk.

You forgot [skill]Soldier's Defense[/skill]. Not that Warriors need blocking stances, but SD is probably thee best they have.

I wouldn't run a defensive stance since warriors are weak against conditions and hexes especially. If you really wanna use one, bring one that has a useful side effect instead of just plain blocking (shield stance, etc). Wary stance has a very short duration, but it has a short recharge too, and gets you back adren/energy. Shield bash is mainly good against sins to shutdown down for abit.

Warriors already have a ridiculously high armor value against physical damage, and blocking mostly blocks... yes you guessed it physical damage attacks. There really isn't much need.
Apart from farming of course.

the Warrior's defensive stances arent really meant for primary Warriors... only reason to carry them on a primary Warrior is the various farming builds revolving around Glad's Defense or Bonneti's...
